Job Search Tips
Via a Referral
Keep in touch with your Seniors. They can help you with your job search. They can give you information about job openings in their companies. They can also keep you informed on the happenings in the job market. Also, keep in touch with the Placement Cell of your college, they can refer you to companies when there are openings. The referral could also come from your Relative or Friend or Acquaintance. It is always a good idea to tell people that you are looking for a job so that if something comes up they can inform you.
Via a Recruitment Consultant
There are many Recruitment Consultancy firms in India that short-list candidates during the initial stages of the recruitment process for companies. Please look out for a firm that specialises in recruiting freshers. You can look for one in your city and sign up with them. They would help you look for a suitable job based on your qualifications.
The Internet
There are many job portals in India today that can help you with your Job Search. Some of them are naukri.com, timesjobs.com, monster.com and shine.com. You can fill out our details on an online form and you will receive Job Updates, but you will have to be active on the Internet and search for jobs yourself too.
Newspaper Advertisements
Every newspaper has a section where companies advertise the positions they are hiring for. It is good to buy 2 or 3 newspapers a day and circle out relevant job positions you are interested in and want to pursue. Sometimes companies have walk-in interviews on the same day of the ad release so look out for that.
Direct Employer Contact via Web Sites/ Mail / Walk - In etc.
All company websites have a Careers section where they upload job openings. You can send in your application directly to the company through the website.
